Money matter

Someone was telling me that this year is a good year to invest. “Start to plan and invest your money. Dragon is a good year to make money.” So I was told.

Is it? Is Dragon really a good year to make money? Or invest? If you believe in feng shui or whatever that goes toward it, maybe Dragon is indeed a good year. Maybe we should start investing on buying gold coins or buy silver coins and store them somewhere. Or maybe EVERY year is a good year to invest money or make money.

To me, I believe that you don’t have to see what year it is. No matter what year, you HAVE to make money and save some. Trust me, I know..

New Year is drawing in real close. Bet everyone’s busy preparing for a party, celebrating the coming of a new year.. So what’s your new year resolution? A few of my friends are planning for a marriage next year, some trying to lose weight (and that includes me!).. and another is building a new home! Whatever your plans are, please do not overdo it, especially when it involves $$$. We wouldn’t want to end up having lots of debts, do we? Or best, get some debt advice before venturing into loans and such.

Most of all, I wish you all to have a better new year next year.

To lash or not to lash

My partner and I went out last night. We were supposed to go see a friend doing a concert/show but we had to cancel the outing last minute.. and I was wearing a mascara! What a waste of mascara. Ha ha ha! I also noticed that I’m running low on the mascara supplies… guess I’d be doing some serious makeup shopping real soon at Sephora, KL. *hee*

I heard from a friend that it’s not a good thing to curl your mascara all the time. It’ll make you lose more lashes, she said. Well I’m not really sure if that’s true (I should do a google search on this lah). If it’s true then perhaps it’s time read up eyelash growth product review and start investing on eyelash growth product! At least it’ll save me some time from applying eyelash curler and probably mascara too.

We’ll see.. after I google some stuff.

Was going through my friends’ Facebook status this morning while having my nasi lemak when I read Lennie’s status: a woman driving ahead of her had her car window smashed by 2 men on motorbike. The cars were stalled at the time due to jam and these 2 men took the chance to grab a woman’s handbag from inside her car. I guess this is happening quite often nowadays. Sometimes they used their riding helmets to smash the window of the car, sometimes using an iron bar. However it is, they have caused so much trouble to the victim, not to mention the loss of money!

So ladies, whenever you’re driving, keep this in mind: DO NOT put your handbag on the seat! You’ll never know when someone would smash into your window and grab your expensive bag!

The month of November is finally here! Less than 2 months to Christmas: let the house deco shopping and gift shopping begin! I’ve started shopping for gifts since last week. Not the most expensive gift ever (although I would LOVE to buy my mom and sister some diamond necklaces), but of course, now that I’m jobless – I’m on a tight budget now! 2 lists down, many more to go!

Also, today happens to be All Souls Day. Have you offered some prayers for the souls in Purgatory? I just did this morning and then I go all emotional and stuff, I forgot how to recite The Creed! *sigh*

Early plan

Ooooo it’s the mid of September already! How time flies. Before you know it, it’ll be December already and I haven’t started listing my shopping list yet! Oh dear… And since mom’s pilgrimage trip has been rescheduled from December to November, that means I gotta go home for Christmas earlier than planned.

So let’s see… new curtains for the house. Probably some new coat of paints as well.. And a fireplace! Ha ha ha! Maybe a new fireplace just for the fun of it! And maybe throw in some fireplace mantel. LOL. However, this will all depends on the budget, for at the moment, I don’t think I have enough money for all that. :-P

Long time no shop

Since working at night shifts, I haven’t had the chance to actually go out and spend the whole day shopping. I am always tired and sleepy most of the day. The only time I get to rest is on Sundays, and everyone in the city knows that going out to the roads of KL on a Sunday is a no-no. Massive traffic jams everywhere. Even the checkout counters are jam-packed with people trying to pay their stuff. So how am I gonna shop? Been looking at some new dresses and shoes at that mall nearby. Even spotted some nice motorcycle boots that I could giveaway to some friends who’s into bike back home.

Maybe I should take a day off and go shopping. :-)

Say goodbye to August

Say HELLO to the month of September! You know when the month of “ber” is here, it could mean only one thing: December is just around the corner.. and CHRISTMAS!!!! Oh yeahhhhh.. soon it will be Christmas day!

Like 3 months more to Christmas – I guess like every other year, I am gonna prepare Christmas gifts earlier. Perhaps much, much more early than the previous year. Maybe 2 or 3 gifts for each month, so come December, I wouldn’t have to rush so much on the shopping. AND I wouldn’t feel like I’ve spent a lot in a month. First on the list, the men in my family. Perhaps getting something custom-made? Or just monogramed cufflinks? Such good idea, no? Else, I would have to think of other gifts…

Oh…. I can’t wait to shop for the women. It’s so easier to shop for them! :-)

Oh the weather.. is fine

It’s been a cold night tonight. I was at the cinema early this evening with my friends, watching Cowboys & Aliens – quite an entertaining movie. But the AC was turned on at the maximum level, I guess.. so it was sooooo cold. I brought a shawl along, of course, but it didn’t keep me warm enough. And then back home, I turned the AC to the minimum.. yet, it is still too cold. Perhaps getting a matouk to keep me warm is a good idea. Ha ha!

It’s not raining outside, but it’s quite cold. How come…

Pills for slimming?

Last weekend, a colleague of mine gave a few pills that she claimed to be as fat burners that actually work. From the look of the pills and the side effects I would get (she told me the side effects of taking the pills, thank goodness), made me doubt them pills. By the time I reached home, I Googled the pill’s name… and to my horror, it contained poisonous stuff. The pills are made in Indonesia and was not approved by the Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia. I’ve no idea how they got into the counters of the jamu shops in Malaysia… Even the reviews of some of the users are scary! Some claimed to have faster heartbeat, some claimed to have been vomitting a lot… even a death! No idea how far the truth is, but it’s better to be sorry now than never.

I told my colleague about it, but she gushed it and told me she has lost 1kg in a span of 1 week.

Oh well.. bukan badan saya. I’ve told her of my findings. It is up to her whether or not to trust the pills she’s taking or not..
